The Polar Connect Initiative: A Key Topic at the PTC25 Conference

On January 19th–22nd, the Polar Connect team, in collaboration with NORDUnet, attended the Pacific Telecommunications Council’s (PTC) annual conference in Honolulu, Hawai‘i.

This conference focuses on advancements in global communications infrastructure, bringing together industry leaders to explore innovations in undersea cable networks, regional connectivity, and the future of global communications infrastructure.

One notable session was the PTC25 Submarine Cable Panel: “Around the World Update”, which offered valuable insights into the progress and challenges faced by undersea cable networks. A major focus during the panel discussions and stakeholder meetings was the Polar Connect initiative and the North Pole Fiber project.

In summary, the PTC25 Conference provided extensive opportunities to engage with key stakeholders, fostering discussions on collaboration and investment in groundbreaking efforts like Polar Connect and North Pole Fiber.
